Route Planning

On of our aims for this adventure is to inspire fellow Africans, to offer them hope and the belief that anything can be achieved if you set your mind to it. It is important to us that we complete a circuit of the globe, but we had to find a route that was achievable. With all sorts of constraints to consider including, time, budget, political instability, civil war (and later Ebola). Not to mention factoring in the likelihood of being granted a visa from each country on the route, there was a lot to think through before deciding on the final route.

Our initial idea was to travel north-east across Africa from Nigeria, then cross through the middle east then through China. Unfortunately this idea soon met with reality when we realised that it was not feasible. In the end we found a route that was challenging and ambitious but ultimately possible (we hope!) given our constraints.

We will travel from Nigeria up through West Africa to Morocco, jump on the ferry to Spain, through Europe and Belarus to Russia for the longest part of the trip into Siberia where we cross to Alaska then across Canada before flying back to finish the epic ride in Nigeria.

Route Planning 1

Part of our 20,000 mile journey will involve all three of us riding through some of the worst roads in Africa, wilderness in Russia, potential bear attacks in Canada and some of the most sever weather conditions in Alaska. These are certainly not ideal conditions for three Nigerians. Before all this we’ll need to secure the many visas that we’ll need to cover the route. But our cause for concern will not deter us from completing our journey and in turn hopefully inspiring others.
